Communique PR

Communique PR is Burson Marsteller's consumer PR operation in the UK.

Established in 1986, Communique became part of Burson-Marsteller in 2001 and continues to operate under its own identity out of offices in London and Manchester, employing about 25 people. It was voted "Best PR Company of the last 25 Years" in March 2006 in a survey of our peers conducted for Adline magazine.

Communique has three core values – Quick, Creative, Commercial.

  • Quick: We are flexible in approach, meaning we are set up to handle short term projects as well as work on a long term retainer basis for clients
  • Creative: We have an enviable reputation for creativity on budgets large and small, backed up by a trophy cabinet of awards that continues to be added to each year
  • Commercial: Possibly our most important trait – we want to talk to our clients about their commercial objectives and the kind of results which will support their business strategy. We expect to be measured on results rather than effort and we want to have robust relationships which focus on what the client really values most.

Our people are drawn from a wide a variety of backgrounds in journalism, marketing communications and PR consultancy and are chosen for their versatility and a  "can do" attitude - we believe that ideas and strategies are transferable between sectors and industries and that creativity is not necessarily a function of budget.

What kind of client gets the most out of Communique? One that is not afraid to be challenged, one that values ambition, one that rewards our openness and transparency with a little freedom to take risks.

How do we operate? We have grown and thrived by running a tightly managed business behind the scenes – we are firm believers in the words of Gustave Flaubert: "Be organized in your affairs so that you may be violently creative in your work."
